Former race horses can be fantastic new mounts for riders capable of re-training them. Once trained, these horses can excell in a variety of disciplines, but are often particularly well suited to jumping or eventing. With new skills in place, Thoroghbreds can increase substantially in value. What is necessary is skillful training and a horse ready for a new life.
For breeders, a young Thoroughbred with exceptional conformation can also be a great asset to a sporthorse breeding program. The right Thoroughbred can cross well with a well-chosen Warmblood or Quarter Horse.
Let us help you find that great project or breeding horse. While we get the right horse for your objectives, we will also be benefitting ex-racers whose only fault may be their "slow" speed or sweet temperament not suited to intense racing competition.
It is also often possible to find Thoroghbreds who have never raced at all. If their trainers recognize that they just can't win because their speed is too slow for the recetrack, or if trainers see a tempermanet that is just too "laid-back", these horses become available with no track experience behind them.
